9th March 2005 – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Jones Day is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Roger Ho and Jiang Ren as associates of the firm’s Hong Kong office.

Roger Ho joins the firm as a senior associate of the Hong Kong Corporate Finance Practice. He was previously a senior associate with White & Case in Hong Kong, where his practice focused on initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate and commercial transactions. Prior to joining White & Case, Roger also worked at the Hong Kong offices of Richards Butler. He is a graduate of The University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws. Roger is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Jiang Ren joins as a Senior China Affairs Officer, with a primary seat in the firm’s Energy Practice. She was previously based in the Shanghai, and more recently, Hong Kong offices of Simmons & Simmons, where her practice focused on major projects and infrastructure-related foreign direct investment. Prior to joining Simmons & Simmons, Ren worked in the German offices of Clifford Chance and prior to that in the Department of Treaties and Law of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (i.e. the Ministry of Commerce today) in Beijing. Ren is a graduate of the Economics Department of Shandong University, holds an LL.M. in International Trade Law from Beijing University of International Business and Economics, as well as an LL.M. in International Law from Australia National University. She is fluent in Mandarin and English.

Commenting on Roger Ho and Jiang Ren’s arrival, Partner-in-Charge Barbara Mok said, “These are terrific additions to our Hong Kong office and China Practice. Roger has extensive knowledge in Hong Kong corporate finance and regulatory compliance practice.
