Shanghai – LAWFUEL – Law News Network – DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary (“DLA Piper”) today announced the appointment of a foreign direct investment, mergers and acquisitions (“M&A”) and dispute resolution expert,
Henry Wang who joins as a partner. Mr Wang, former General Counsel of Shanghai General Motors has extensive experience with, and an in-depth understanding of, China’s automotive industry.
Mr Wang, a US-qualified lawyer with more than 14 year’s experience representing multinational companies investing and adapting their operations in China, and Chinese enterprises expanding their operations overseas, was recognised in 2006 by the Asian Legal Business magazine as one of Asia’s top 20 in-house counsel.
Mr Wang has a proven track record in M&A, negotiation and documentation, establishment of joint ventures or wholly foreign owned entities, due diligence, intellectual property rights, technology/know-how licences, corporate financing, dispute resolution, employment and real estate.

DLA Piper has three offices and more than 100 lawyers in China. In June 2006, the firm officially opened its office in Beijing, making DLA Piper one of the largest international law firms in the country. Its office in Hong Kong is also a key international base for the China practice. In Asia DLA Piper doubled in size with 212 partners/fee earners at the end of April 2006, up from 102 in mid-2004.

Prior to his legal career, Mr Wang worked for the Chinese Foreign Ministry and the United Nations as an interpreter. He holds a JD from The University of Wisconsin Law School.
