Milan – LAWFUEL – Law News Network – DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary (“DLA Piper”) is strengthening its Italian Technology, Media and Communications (“TMC”) practice with the appointment of leading media partner, Giangiacomo Olivi. Giangiacomo will head the TMC practice group in Italy.

Giangiacomo Olivi, 37, has extensive media, entertainment, technology and communications experience and regularly advises international media groups on their operations in Italy. He specialises in the preparation and negotiation of distribution, licence and output and audiovisual production agreements for international entertainment groups. In addition, Giangiacomo advises several clients, such as the Italian Communications Authority and the Italian Communications Ministry on regulatory matters.

Giangiacomo, who is ranked by Chambers Global Guide as one of Italy’s leading TMT lawyers joins DLA Piper from McDermott Will & Emery Carnelutti. In the earlier part of his career he worked for MTV, as Head of Law and Business Affairs for Greece, Italy, Spain and Portugal.

Giangiacomo Olivi, gained a first class law degree in 1991 and a post-graduate degree in European law in 1992 from the University of Modena. He is admitted to practice both in Italy and in England and Wales.
