The Justice Department has been investigating past sales of certain tax shelters by KPMG for several months . The Wall Street Journal reported yesterday that US prosecutors had built a criminal case against KPMG and are debating whether to seek an indictment against the auditors for selling some abusive tax shelters between 1998 and 2003.
