Alan Bryson, one of the firm’s London IP partners, is leaving Clifford Chance to go to the Bar. He will be joining Wilberforce Chambers in July. This will further strengthen Wilberforce’s specialist IP capability following the recent move to Chambers by Anna Carboni, a former Linklaters’ IP partner, to join Michael Bloch QC there.

“I have had many happy years at Clifford Chance but it is difficult at partner level to spend as much time as I would like on advocacy and similar work – the aspects of practice I most enjoy. Ever since I indicated to the firm that I was contemplating going to the Bar, they have been very supportive of the plan. This is a very exciting opportunity to expand further the IP capability at one of the top sets of London Chambers.”, said Alan.

Jeremy Sandelson, head of the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice, commented:
“We wish Alan the very best of luck. The move makes perfect sense for him and we look forward to working with him at the Bar.”

Declan Redmond, Senior Clerk at Wilberforce, said:

“Our already significant team of commercial barristers will be boosted by Alan’s arrival in July. Chambers has established an excellent reputation in most areas of Commercial law. Michael Bloch QC and Anna Carboni are already acknowledged as a leading IP and trade mark experts and the introduction of Alan will help us continue to grow in this area.”
