Iran’s execution methods are simple and in a series of photographs of a recent near-execution demonstrate how a forgiving murder victim’s mother was able to save the murderer from hanging.
In the case of a murder in Iran, the victim’s next of kin is allowed to pull the stool out from under the condemned person. These images show a man who was sentenced to death for murder.
At the execution site, the victim’s mother forgave the man and removed the noose from around his neck, which was to have been used to hang him.
