LAWFUEL – Australia Legal Announcements – TressCox Lawyers is delighted to announce the appointment of Peta Tumpey as a Partner in its Sydney office. Peta is a specialist in employment law and is highly experienced in contentious and non-contentious aspects of employment and industrial relations law.

Peta brings a wealth of experience to TressCox, having attended the Australian Defence Force Academy prior to gaining her law degree and having acted for a number of substantial clients in the employment law area. Her clients include Fortune 500 companies and a number of local government councils.

Peta’s experience encompasses aspects of policy development and organisational issues, with a particular focus on workplace issues including drafting and advising on employment contracts, employee entitlements, statutory obligations, discriminations issues, unfair dismissals and contracts as well as independent contractor agreements.

Additionally, Peta advises and negotiates on the employment aspects in commercial transactions and provides clients with advice on appropriate procedures to minimise risk when recruiting staff and terminating employees.

Peta’s expertise also includes drafting policies relating to equal opportunity, privacy and occupational health and safety, drafting AWAs and individual and collective agreements, as well as advising on employee entitlements pursuant to both Federal and State jurisdictions.

Peta also has an interest in agribusiness and in addition to her legal career, Peta operates a sheep stud in Central NSW as well as being a Director of the Australian Dohne Breeders Association.
