Cornelius J. Golden, Jr., project finance partner at the international law firm of Chadbourne & Parke LLP, has won a 2003 Burton Award for Legal Achievement for his article, “SEC Forces Rethink of Earnings Reports.” The awards, which honor authors for excellence in legal writing – and, in particular, for the use of clear language, rather than “legalese” – will be presented at the Burton Awards for Legal Achievement Dinner, to be held in the Great Hall of the Library of Congress on June 17th.

“Chadbourne congratulates Neil on winning the Burton Award, and on the consistently high quality of his writing,” said Charles K. O’Neill, Chadbourne’s Managing Partner. “Writing is a critical part of the work our attorneys do every day. We applaud the Burton Foundation for championing clarity and concision in legal writing.”
