International law firm Cleary Gottlieb today received Chambers and Partners “U.S. Tax Law Firm of the Year” award. Chambers selected Cleary from finalists including Caplin & Drysdale; Cravath, Swaine & Moore; Davis Polk & Wardwell; Irell & Manella; McKee Nelson; Sullivan & Cromwell; and Sutherland Asbill & Brennan. Chambers presented the award to Cleary at a ceremony in London.

Chambers described the firm’s tax practice as, “the ultimate cross-border practice,” and noted Ed Kleinbard and Jim Peaslee for commanding “international reputations,” and Les Samuels for his “knowledge of legislative developments.”

Chambers also recognized 18 Cleary partners in this year’s edition of America’s Leading Business Lawyers. Chambers published this guide based on independent research and in-depth interviews with leading U.S. legal professionals.
