DALLAS/HOUSTON – LAWFUEL – American Lawyer News – Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP announces the promotion of nine new partners in the firm’s Dallas and Houston offices, effective April 1, 2007.

The new partners are R. Craig Baker, Steven S. Camp, Michael P. Cooley, John A. Eliason, Brett D. Lamb, Colin Martin, Robert T. Slovak, Jeannette Vloitos and John T. Woodruff.

R. Craig Baker is a partner in the firm’s real estate group, with a practice involving a broad range of commercial and residential real estate transactions. His work includes the sale and purchase of office buildings, hotels, apartments, warehouses and raw land for development, as well as commercial leasing transactions. He practices in Gardere’s Dallas office.

Steven S. Camp is a partner in the firm’s banking group. His diverse practice includes the documentation of commercial lending transactions and assisting financial institutions and debtors with financial transactions ranging in size from $2 million to $450 million. He also has a broad range of experience in consumer finance and corporate fraud investigation, the workout of troubled loans, and regulatory matters related to financial institutions and regulated lenders He practices in Gardere’s Dallas office.

Michael P. Cooley is a partner in the firm’s bankruptcy group, where his practice focuses on Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, including the representation of Chapter 11 debtors, lender and creditors’ committees. He also assists with debt restructurings, out-of-court workouts and various cross-border insolvency issues. He practices in Gardere’s Dallas office.

John A. Eliason is a partner in the firm’s tax group. He practices in all areas of federal and state taxation with an emphasis on structuring complex U.S. and international commercial transactions. He represents clients in cross-border and domestic structured financings of high value assets such as power plants, electricity networks, oil tankers and aircraft. He practices in Gardere’s Dallas office.

Brett D. Lamb is a partner in the firm’s litigation group. He represents individual, business and governmental clients in commercial litigation matters, ranging from partnership disputes to indemnification actions. Additionally, he assists clients with everyday business planning, contract drafting, and strategy decisions. He practices in Gardere’s Dallas office.

Colin Martin is a partner in the firm’s litigation group, where his practice focuses on complex business disputes. He is experienced in state and federal courts, as well as in mediation and arbitration. He often handles disputes involving contract rights, corporate transactions, real estate transactions, secured lending transactions, interference with contract rights, fraud and collections, and piercing corporate veils. He practices in Gardere’s Dallas office.

Robert T. Slovak is a partner in the firm’s litigation group. He is developing a specialty practice in residential and commercial construction litigation and intellectual property litigation, including trademark, copyright, trade secret and patent litigation. He has worked on both sides of the docket in a variety of industries, including construction, technology, Internet, health care, consumer foods, commercial financing and leasing, graphic design and telecommunications. He practices in Gardere’s Dallas office.

Jeannette Vloitos is a partner in the firm’s litigation group. She maintains a practice focused on litigation arising from corporate transactions, technology, tort and insurance disputes, insurance coverage and reinsurance disputes, securities claims, landlord/tenant disputes, broker disputes, product liability claims, professional malpractice, toxic torts and personal injury claims. She practices in Gardere’s Dallas office.

John T. Woodruff is a partner in the firm’s tax group, with particular emphasis on cross-border mergers, as well as inbound and outbound acquisitions. He has represented clients in a broad range of industries and has particular experience with multinational oil and gas exploration and production companies. He also has represented private equity investors and targets structuring venture capital and mezzanine investments. He practices in Gardere’s Houston office.
