– Lewis & Munday announced Monday that
Leroy C. Richie, former General Counsel of Chrysler Motors Corporation, and
Samuel E. McCargo, former Vice President Plan Administration and Associate
General Counsel of The Wellness Plan, have joined the firm.
Richie will serve in an Of Counsel role to the firm similar to the late
Otis M. Smith, former Vice President and General Counsel at General Motors
Corporation, who served with Lewis & Munday until his death in 1994. McCargo
will concentrate his practice in the areas of litigation, labor and
employment, administrative and health care law.

Richie, a native of Buffalo, New York, is former Vice President and
General Counsel of Chrysler Motors Corporation and also former General Counsel
of the United States Golf Association (USGA). He is a member of the board of
directors of the USGA and serves on numerous other boards and community
organizations.
Prior to joining Chrysler in 1983, he served as director of the New York
office of the Federal Trade Commission. Richie was valedictorian of his class
at City College of New York and earned his law degree from New York
University.
McCargo will concentrate his practice in the areas of litigation, labor
and employment, administrative and health care law.
McCargo was a principal in the firm of Kirk & McCargo from 1983 until he
joined The Wellness Plan in 1995 as Vice President and Associate General
Counsel. In 2000, he became Vice President of Business Development and
Marketing at The Wellness Plan. McCargo has concentrated his law practice in
defense litigation, labor and employment. McCargo is a member of and
arbitrator on several dispute resolution panels of the American Arbitration
Association.
A native of Highland Park, Michigan, McCargo is a graduate of The
University of Michigan where he earned his B.A. in Political Science and his
J.D. from The University of Michigan Law School. He is a member of the
Executive Board of the Institute of Continuing Legal Education (ICLE) where he
has published numerous articles in his practice areas. McCargo serves on
numerous boards and community organizations.
