A Big Floyd Mayweather Question

A Big Floyd Mayweather Question

The Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao fight could have significant repercussions for a sideline party, rap mogul Mrion “Suge” Knight who may be depending upon Mayweather to post the rapper’s bail.

Knight’s bail was originally set at $25 million, reduced to $10 million but the judge handling the case refused to drop the bail further to just $5million.  His release may very well be determined by whether Mayweather wins the title fight and posts bail.

Knight’s attorney, Matthew Fletcher, told the Times and the New York Daily News he expects Mayweather to post bail for Knight.

“We think Mr. Mayweather is going to win the championship and then come champion the day again,” Fletcher told the Daily News. “They’re good friends, and there’s no reason he shouldn’t. And we believe that will happen.” He told the Times that Mayweather’s camp had reached out to him recently to discuss Knight’s bail.

“Suge said, ‘Man, I was really going to pull for him to win, but now I’m going to have to pray for him to win,’ ” Fletcher told the Times.

But is this correct?  Other reports say that Mayweather has no such intention.  Although expected to win the bout, which will create a pay check of $100 million in his ‘Fight of the Century’, there is no certainty over what may occur afterwards with Knight’s bail or just about anything else.

Knight has pleaded not guilty, but a judge earlier this month refused to dismiss the case based on his claim of self-defense, the Associated Press reported.
