National Law Firm Announces 15 Attorneys Named to Partnership

National law firm Foley & Lardner announced today that 15 of the firm’s senior counsel have been elected to partnership. This includes attorneys from the Chicago, Jacksonville, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, Orlando, San Diego, San Francisco, Tampa and Washington, D.C offices.

Lisa J. Acevedo, of the Chicago office and Health Law Department, provides regulatory and transactional advice as well as general counsel to clients representing virtually all aspects of health care. She advises on FDA compliance, HIPAA compliance, e-health and privacy from both a domestic and international perspective.

Pavan K. Agarwal is member of the Intellectual Property Department and the Electronics Practice Group in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. He practices in all areas of patent law, including IP corporate counseling and litigation, focusing on working with clients in the electronics and automotive industries.

Michael D. Crosbie, of the Litigation Department in the firm’s Orlando office, practices in the area of intellectual property litigation, commercial litigation, including contract disputes, covenants not to compete, products liability and professional liability.

Pauline E. Doohan, of the Business Law Department, divides her time between the firm’s Chicago and Detroit offices. Her practice includes corporate finance, project finance, mergers and acquisitions, and joint ventures, particularly involving energy-related assets. She also counsels clients on business formation, corporate governance and general corporate matters.

Lynn R. Goodfellow is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department in the San Diego office with a primary concentration in health care and public agencies. Goodfellow provides employers with advice on a variety of labor and employment matters, including wage-and-hour compliance, sexual harassment prevention and training, labor law compliance, workers’ compensation, disability, non-discrimination and mandatory leaves of absence.

Ivonne Mena King is a member of the Compliance, Counseling and Government Enforcement Practice Group in San Francisco’s Litigation Department. She represents international and domestic clients in connection with compliance, litigation, internal investigations, and government investigations. She routinely defends clients under investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission, Department of Justice, and United States Attorney’s Office.

Thomas P. Krebs is a member of the Litigation Department in Chicago. He focuses his practice on securities litigation and government enforcement proceedings. Krebs has represented publicly traded companies, broker-dealers, financial institutions, futures commission merchants and their officers and directors.

David G. Luettgen is a member of the Intellectual Property Department in the firm’s Milwaukee office. His experience includes patent prosecution, merger and acquisition due diligence, licensing and joint development agreements, litigation support, non-infringement, invalidity, unenforceability opinions and other intellectual property counseling.

Kevin D. Makowski, of the Business Law Department in the firm’s Milwaukee office, has a diverse corporate transactional practice, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and commercial transactions. Makowski represents clients in the manufacturing, service, publishing and food industries and specializes in representing domestic companies in foreign transactions (principally Europe) and representing European companies (and their U.S. subsidiaries) in transactions in the U.S.

Sheri D. McWhorter is a member of the Litigation Department in the firm’s Tampa office. She focuses her practice in labor and employment law, representing management. She works with large and small employers in matters involving employment-discrimination litigation, wage-and-hour issues, labor issues and general labor and employment law advice.

James D. Nguyen, a member of the Litigation Department in the firm’s Los Angeles office, focuses on copyright, trademark and trade dress infringement matters. His practice includes entertainment, intellectual property and business litigation, as well as handling entertainment, Internet and e-commerce transactions.

Scott D. Richburg is a member of the Litigation Department in the firm’s Jacksonville office. Richburg’s commercial litigation practice includes securities litigation representing corporations, boards of directors, minority shareholders, and individuals in shareholder class actions, derivative actions, and dissenters’ rights actions. He also handles financial institution litigation regarding lender liability and commercial loan foreclosures and workouts.

David S. Sanders, of the Business Law Department in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, general corporate matters, employment and non-compete issues, leases and contractual matters. Sanders counsels public and private entities on all aspects of forming, operating and growing a business.

Fritz J. Vorlop, a member of the Intellectual Property Department in the firm’s Milwaukee office, advises on all matters involving information technology for a broad range of clients. Vorlop’s practice includes drafting and negotiating technology acquisition, licensing, outsourcing and other technology-related agreements and advising clients regarding technology initiatives, vendor selection and enterprise management of technology assets.

John K. Wilson is a member of the Business Law Department in the firm’s Milwaukee office. He practices in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, securities law, public and private securities offerings, venture capital and private equity fund formation and investments, as well as general corporate and business law. He regularly counsels public companies regarding federal securities law compliance and reporting, corporate governance and takeover defense matters.
