Following an active year advising on several
ground-breaking private equity deals in Asia, global law firm Clifford
Chance has just announced the appointment of Daniel Hounslow as Counsel.
Based in the firm’s Tokyo office, Clifford Chance Tanaka Akita & Nakagawa,
since 2000, Daniel has over 15 years experience as a corporate lawyer,
including 6 years in Japan. His appointment was effective from 1st January
and he will spearhead the Japan Private Equity practice.

Daniel has advised clients such as Whitney & Co., PPM Ventures, CVC Asia
Pacific, NIF Ventures, Deutsche Securities and 3i Group on private equity
and venture capital transactions in Japan. He recently led the Clifford
Chance team advising 3i and PPM Ventures on the sale of their combined 65%
interest in Vantec Corporation (Japan’s first secondary MBO and winner of
the “Exit of the Year” award at the recent Asian Venture Capital Awards
ceremony).
