For the second consecutive year, Mallesons Stephen Jaques’ Hong Kong office has been named, Construction Law Firm of the Year at the Asian Legal Business Awards.

The annual awards recognise the outstanding professional achievements of leading in-house legal teams, law firms, chambers, managing partners and top legal practitioners.

Mallesons continues to service the growing regional needs of clients with a strong team of partners on-the-ground in Hong Kong. The firm’s Construction practice, with team members in its Australian and Hong Kong offices, is one of the largest groups of dedicated construction law practitioners in the Asia Pacific region. The practice continues to expand with the recent addition of two associates in Hong Kong.

Partners David Bateson, Jennifer Lee-Shoy, Damian McNair, Paul Starr, Graham Thomson and Christopher Tung are all key members of the projects and construction team who provide legal advice on all aspects of major building, engineering and infrastructure projects, in all industry sectors. The team’s use of applied legal technology enables clients to plan and manage the complexities of major projects.

“We are delighted to once again receive this award. Our consistent nominations are a rewarding industry recognition of Mallesons’ strength in advising on construction and project matters in Asia,” said David Bateson, head of the firm’s Hong Kong Construction practice.

“We thank our clients for their continued support, and will ensure that they continue to receive the high quality service typical of Mallesons.”

Paul Starr adds: “Our clients are comfortable with the fact that, not only have our principal partners been here for the long term, but so have the majority of our lawyers and staff. They value our loyalty, team spirit and high morale.”
