Holland & Knight managing partner Howell W. Melton, Jr. has announced that Jason Brown has been appointed executive partner of the New York office. Brown joined Holland & Knight in 2000 after having served as Chief of the Criminal Division for the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of New York. He will continue his full- time practice in the areas of white-collar criminal and complex civil litigation, in addition to his administrative duties for the firm’s lower Manhattan office. William J. Honan III, who focuses his practice on arbitration, mediation and maritime law, will move to a new role heading the firm’s Maritime National Practice Group.

As Chief of the Criminal Division of the United States Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of New York, Brown oversaw more than 100 Assistant U.S. Attorneys. During his tenure as a federal prosecutor, Brown investigated and prosecuted criminal cases, including securities fraud, government and contract fraud and public corruption.
Brown is a graduate of Princeton University and earned his J.D. cum laude in 1985 from Harvard Law School. He is a member of the New York State Bar and is admitted to practice in the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, as well as the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.
