Hong Kong – International law firm Clifford Chance has announced the recruitment of Paul Chu to be based in the firm’s Hong Kong office.

Paul was most recently vice president of the Asian securitisation group with Credit Suisse First Boston where he had been involved in various award-winning securitisation transactions in Korea. Prior to that, he was with CSFB’s legal and compliance department as an in-house counsel where his primary responsibilities included supporting the derivative structuring and the Asian securitisation groups.

Paul was with Clifford Chance between 1997 and 2000 and had been involved in various securitisation transactions in Hong Kong and Korea. He was admitted as a barrister and solicitor in Australia in 1997 and as a solicitor in Hong Kong and England and Wales in 1999.
Paul will focus on supporting the firm’s capital markets practice, particularly in securitisation and other structured products in relation to the more challenging cross-border transactions and PRC assignments.
Paul Kruger, head of Clifford Chance’s Asian capital markets practice, commented:
“Our capital markets practice is growing from strength to strength, and I’m delighted to welcome Paul. I believe his recruitment will boost not only the securitisation group, but the ongoing success of our capital markets practice in Asia. We continually invest in quality people, which relates directly to the high quality of service we offer our clients. He will be a valuable addition to our team.”
