International Law Firm Gives Thai Villages A Helping Hand – Clifford Chance gives Thai village school a helping hand

LAWFUEL – Bangkok: A rural school in Thailand’s Lopburi province has a renovated library and new equipment today, thanks to the efforts of Clifford Chance’s Bangkok office.

Baan Nhong Plong School at Lopburi Province appealed on television for assistance last year, a plea spotted by Clifford Chance office manager Chiraprabha Tantikul.

Since then, the firm has provided computer equipment and sponsored the renovation of the library at the school, which was opened at 1pm on 21 February.

“As well as involving our own staff in the project, we contacted seven other companies to provide donations of books, toys and sun shades,” explained Khun Chiraprabha. “In addition to the renovated library, the school will receive 1,418 new books, 16 sets of toys and 27 blankets.”

“I’m delighted that we have been able to make such a difference to the children of Baan Nhong Plong,” said Fergus Evans, Clifford Chance’s managing partner for Thailand. “This project sums up the dedication and ingenuity of our staff – the firm is very proud of their efforts.”
