International Law Firm Nixon Peabody Announces New Business Department Leadership

June 10, 2008 (New York, NY) LAWFUEL – International law firm Nixon Peabody LLP has named Charles P. Jacobs as the Head of the Business and Financial Services Department. Mr. Jacobs succeeds the department’s previous head, Richard F. Langan, Jr., who is now the firm’s Chief Executive Officer and Managing Partner.

Mr. Jacobs founded Nixon Peabody’s Private Equity practice which has grown to encompass Investment Funds, Leveraged Buyouts, and Venture Capital and Emerging Growth Groups. He was the original head of the firm’s Business and Financial Services Department. Mr. Jacobs has also played a critical leadership role in the firm’s mergers and merger discussions during the past decade.

Mr. Jacobs is a member of the American Bar Association (Venture Capital Committee and Committee on Negotiated Acquisitions) and the New York State Bar Association (Banking, Corporate and Business Law Section). He is also a member of the Board of Editors for the Private Equity Analyst’s Terms and Conditions Survey. Mr. Jacobs earned his J.D. from the State University of New York at Buffalo and received his B.A. from The University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Jacobs was previously chair of the firm’s Private Equity practice. Dominick DeChiara will assume that role as well as continue to head up the firm’s Leveraged Buyouts practice. Mr. DeChiara represents private equity and venture capital funds, and provides strategic and legal advice for a variety of corporate transactions.
