International Law Firm Nixon Peabody LLP Names New Leadership Team For Global Strategies Initiative

November 14, 2008 (New York, NY) – International law firm Nixon Peabody LLP has named Mats G. Carlston and Michael P. Murphy as co-leaders of the firm’s global strategies initiative. Both Mr. Carlston and Mr. Murphy are partners in the firm’s New York City office.

Mr. Carlston and Mr. Murphy will lead the firm’s strategic expansion into global markets. They will be responsible for developing and implementing the firm’s global strategy, strengthening and growing international client relationships, and coordinating the firm’s global M&A initiative. In 2007, Nixon Peabody expanded its international footprint with locations in London and Shanghai. In the past two months, Nixon Peabody has added more than 100 attorneys by opening an office in Paris, France, and by strengthening its New York City, Washington, D.C., Shanghai, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices.

Mr. Murphy who also chairs the firm’s top ranked Insurance, Reinsurance & Financial Services Industry Practice, will lead the firm’s strategic expansion into global markets. He will be responsible for developing and implementing the firm’s global strategy, leading international client relationships, and coordinating the firm’s global M&A initiative.

Mr. Carlston also leads the firm’s Global Finance group which encompasses leveraged finance, asset finance, trade finance, corporate trust and bank regulations. The Global Finance group counts as its clients leading US, Asian and European banks and other financial institutions.
