Internationally Recognized Former Federal Prosecutor Jed Davis Joins Kroll

Prosecutor Acknowledged as Influential Innovator in Complex Investigations

NEW YORK–LAWFUEL – Legal Announcements, Law Jobs – Kroll, the world’s leading risk consulting firm, announced today that Jed Davis, a former Assistant United States Attorney in Brooklyn, has joined the firm’s New York office as a Managing Director.

At Kroll, Mr. Davis, age 46, will help clients to prevent and detect traditional fraud schemes as well as fraud committed via the Internet.

An experienced Federal prosecutor, Mr. Davis was well-known within the United States Department of Justice, to law enforcement overseas and to the defense bar for his skill in spotting incriminating patterns, recruiting important sources and making complex schemes understandable to non-experts. Mr. Davis successfully prosecuted defendants for a wide range of white collar offenses, including stock manipulation, fraud on commercial lenders and falsification in the newspaper industry of paid circulation data.

Most recently, Mr. Davis’ work has focused on combating cyber crime, including attacks on financial institutions by hackers who steal and resell credit card and other account information over the Internet. Over the last several years, Mr. Davis has also been lead counsel in national test cases relating to electronic surveillance, including the acquisition by the government in real time of cell phone location data.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Davis was the lead prosecutor in cases that dismantled criminal organizations that had controlled international trafficking of the drug MDMA, commonly known as “Ecstasy.” Frequently establishing alliances with law enforcement abroad, Mr. Davis built strong cases that eventually persuaded major targets to plead guilty and become government witnesses. Among other initiatives, Mr. Davis directed the Department of Justice’s successful effort to prosecute and convict Ze’ev Rosenstein, a powerful organized crime figure in Israel and dominant Ecstasy trafficker worldwide, on U.S. charges. Mr. Davis recently received the National Award of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force for his work in the Rosenstein case.

Mr. Davis served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Brooklyn from 1998 to present. He was a prosecutor in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office from 1995 to 1998. As an Assistant District Attorney in the Rackets Bureau, he helped to secure the conviction on criminal antitrust and extortion charges of 17 members of the Mafia-led cartel that had dominated New York City’s private sanitation industry. Prior to entering government service, Mr. Davis was a litigation associate for five years at Cahill Gordon & Reindel.

Mr. Davis graduated cum laude from Yale College (B.A.) and earned his J.D. from New York University School of Law. He is admitted to the bar in New York and the District of Columbia.
