Kensington Swan Appoints Two New Partners.Kensington Swan is delighted to announce the promotion of Marija Batistich (pictured left) and Charlotte Parkhill as Partners with effect from 1 January 2018.

Marija joins partners Nicky McIndoe and Christina Sheard in the firm’s leading environment and planning team. She joined Kensington Swan in 2017 from another major New Zealand firm and has more than 20 years’ experience in advising on all aspects of planning procedures and resource consents across a range of sectors including property, energy, mining, and viticulture. Her particular focus is major transport infrastructure. Marija’s appointment is recognition of the significant growth of the firm’s environment and planning practice in the past 24 months and, in particular, her ability to fulfil client demand for additional senior expertise on major infrastructure projects.

Charlotte joins noted experts Michael O’Brien and Greg Cain in leading the national employment team. Charlotte joined Kensington Swan in 2011 and brings 14 years’ experience specialising in employment law (including four years in London), as well as experience as a criminal prosecutor.

Charlotte is often called upon to provide strategic advice on highly sensitive employment matters, and assists organisations with complex investigations into bullying, harassment and fraud. Charlotte’s promotion reinforces Kensington Swan’s position as a leading provider of employment law services.

Charles Spillane, Chief Executive Officer, says, ‘We congratulate Marija and Charlotte on their well-deserved promotions and look forward to supporting them in this next stage of their careers.’
The appointment of Marija and Charlotte will bring the number of female partners at Kensington Swan to 10, representing over 30% of the partnership.
