Law Firm Nixon Peabody LLP Expands Public Finance Practice

Former Deputy General Counsel at Metropolitan Transportation Authority Joins the Firm

January 15, 2008 (New York, NY) – LAWFUEL – International Legal Newswire – International Law Firm Nixon Peabody LLP announces the arrival of Kenneth C. Lind as Counsel in the firm’s public finance practice. Mr. Lind joins Nixon Peabody from the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) where he served as former deputy general counsel and acting director of finance.

Since 1996, Mr. Lind has served as the deputy general counsel for public finance at the MTA and as the organization’s acting director of finance since 2006. While at the MTA, he represented the agency in all financial matters, including bonding, budgeting, funding of the capital programs, liquidity and credit facilities, derivatives and drafting and review of legislation.

Some of the major projects Mr. Lind was involved in include the disposition of development rights over the MTA’s west Manhattan rail yards, negotiations with the New York Jets football team for the construction of a stadium in Manhattan and the MTA’s $14 billion debt restructuring in 2002. He began his career in public finance at the New York City Law Department where he represented the city’s interests in all public finance matters, including all bond and note sales, during the city’s financial crisis in the late 1970s.
