(HOUSTON, January 14, 2016) In a continuing effort to increase the impact and effectiveness of lawyers working with their clients, Lex Mundi recently presented the third annual Lex Mundi Institute Business Management Program in collaboration with the University of Cambridge Judge Business School.
The Business Management Program is designed to increase the impact and effectiveness of lawyers in working with clients by increasing their understanding of clients’ business challenges and the concepts that underlie their business operations.
“Clients now expect more from their legal advisors,” commented Carl Anduri, President of Lex Mundi. “They expect their advisors to understand their business and where they can add value.”
The intensive six-day program, held January 3 – 8, 2016, was taught by the faculty of Cambridge Judge Business School. Thirty-one Lawyers from 28 countries experienced the unique atmosphere of Cambridge while learning through highly-interactive lectures, group discussions and case studies. The curriculum included:
The core concepts of strategic management, including an introduction to the main schools of business and corporate strategy
Macroeconomics and aspects of globalization
Corporate finance, capital markets and derivatives
Managing risk and uncertainty
The role of operations in a business organization, including process improvement and the principles of integrated supply chain management
Organizational change
Cross Cultural Communication
The program was open to Lex Mundi member firm lawyers with at least ten years of practice experience. Participants were required to be nominated by their member firm.
