Former broadcaster and journalist Linda Clark has become a partner at Kensington Swan, the firm announced today.

Linda Clark is well known for her work on National Radio and as TVNZ’s political reporter during the 1990s. After qualifying as a lawyer she worked at Chapman Tripp before making the move to Kensington Swan, Wellington.

Kensington Swan is pleased to announce the appointment of Linda Clark as a partner in the firm. Linda joined Kensington Swan in 2014 as Special Counsel and has played a fundamental role in the continued growth of the Public Law and Advocacy team based in Wellington.

Having had a hugely successful and high-profile career in journalism prior to becoming a lawyer has proved a huge advantage in helping Linda intimately understand the issues and potential risks her client’s face. Her unique skillset enables her to anticipate where the next problem is coming from and steer clients confidently to the most effective solution.

Linda has advised on many significant projects in New Zealand, acting for a wide range of public and private sector clients. She is considered a trusted advisor in the regulatory and government space, as well as working on a wide range of administrative law disputes and regulatory investigations.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Linda enjoyed a 20-year career in one of the most prestigious positions in New Zealand journalism. She was a well-respected political reporter, covering five elections as well as being a household name as TVNZ’s Political Editor throughout the 1990s and later the host of Radio New Zealand National’s Nine to Noon programme. Even during her career as a lawyer, Linda has been a sought-after political commentator and election night panellist.
