LOS ANGELES, November 7, 2005 – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Holland & Knight LLP announced today that three lawyers are joining the Real Estate Department as partners in the Los Angeles office. Lorie Soares Lazarus, Susan J. Booth and Brian Aronson move to Holland & Knight from Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw LLP. They join the largest real estate law practice in the United States with more than 250 lawyers and legal professionals.

These three lawyers follow the addition of prominent land use attorneys, Jennifer Hernandez and Betsy Lake, who joined in July of this year to lead a group of 12 attorneys in the California land use and environmental practice.

“Lorie, Susan and Brian bring significant experience and a substantial institutional client base to the firm which will complement our growing practice in California,” said Chad Tiedemann, Chair of Holland & Knight’s national real estate practice.

Lorie Soares Lazarus’ clients include institutional lenders and investors in a wide range of secured and unsecured financings, intercreditor arrangements, foreclosures, workouts and restructurings. She also represents owners, such as real estate investment trusts, pension funds and pension fund advisors, in connection with the acquisition, financing, development, leasing, and sale of industrial, office, residential, retail and mixed-use properties.

Lorie received a J.D./M.B.A. from the University of Southern California in 1988 and a B.S. from the University of Santa Clara in 1984.

Susan J. Booth represents domestic and international commercial banks, pension funds, real estate developers and real estate investment trusts in a diverse range of real estate matters, including real-estate secured lending transactions (acquisition, development, construction, revolving, permanent, securitized and Shari’ah compliant), post-financing asset management, workouts, purchases/sales, leasing and property management.

Susan is a member of the Steering Committee of both the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) Benjamin S. Crocker Symposium on Real Estate and the LACBA Real Estate Finance Subsection and speaks regularly about various real estate topics for presentations sponsored by LACBA.

Susan received a J.D/M.B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1991 (where she was the Managing Editor of the UCLA Law Review) and a B.A. from Stanford University in 1985.

Brian Aronson focuses his practice on purchase and sale transactions, commercial leasing and financings. He represents commercial banks, life insurance companies, pension funds and their advisors, real estate investment trusts and commercial property landlords and tenants.

Brian received a J.D. cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center in 1991 and a B.A. from The American University in 1988.
