LUCE FORWARD PARTNER NAMED FELLOW OF AMERICAN COLLEGE OF COMMERCIAL FINANCE LAWYERS, INC.

Firm Partner Jerome Grossman joins list of ‘Who’s Who’ of commercial finance attorneys

SAN DIEGO (April 7, 2010) – Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps LLP, a prominent California law firm with a national reputation, today announced Partner Jerome Grossman was named a Fellow of the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers, Inc. (ACCFL). The College recognizes individuals who have not only attained a high degree of skill in the field of law, but who have helped others in the field by sharing their knowledge through teaching, lecturing or published writings.

Grossman, a Business/Corporate attorney in Luce Forward’s San Diego office, is a nationally known expert on Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code and the law of secured transactions. He also has nearly three decades of experience in real estate secured transactions and other financing transactions, including securitized financings – from the initiation stage through workouts and restructurings – and third-party legal opinions.

“Jerry is a perfect example of the attorneys at Luce Forward who, in addition to their individual practices, offer local, state and federal organizations in the legal sector valuable insight and knowledge that translates to education and policy reform,” says Kurt L. Kicklighter, Luce Forward’s managing partner. “Being named a Fellow of the ACCFL is an incredible honor and we are particularly proud of Jerry’s accomplishment.”

The ACCFL was founded in 1991 by a group of lawyers active on the Commercial Financial Services Committee of the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association. The College encourages legislative reform to help identify additional methods of commercial finance law dispute resolution, as well as to simplify and improve access to the highest quality of materials on the issues important in the field of commercial finance law.

Grossman’s additional memberships include the Opinions Committee of the American Bar Association’s Section on Business Law and the Executive Committee of the California State Bar’s Business Law Section. He also serves as the Chair of the Opinions Committee of the California State Bar’s Business Law Section and as President of the Financial Lawyers Conference.
