U.S. Attorney BHARARA stated: “Earlier this year,
BARROW and FARRINGTON’s alleged armed robbery spree spread fear
among the residents of Bronx, Westchester, and Putnam counties.
As a result of a tireless pursuit by a task force comprised of
the U.S. Attorney’s Office and our federal, state, and local law
enforcement partners, we believe the people of the Bronx and the
Hudson valley can rest a little easier.”

Acting Assistant FBI Director VENIZELOS stated, “Movie
depictions of bank robbery often romanticize the crime, from
‘Bonnie & Clyde’ to ‘Dog Day Afternoon’ to ‘Public Enemies.’ But
in real life, armed bank robbery terrifies employees and
customers, and poses the real risk of serious injury or death.
Working with our partners, the FBI continues to pay serious
attention to this serious crime.”

This case is being handled by the Office’s White Plains
Division. Assistant United States Attorney DOUGLAS B. BLOOM is
in charge of the prosecution.
The charges contained in the Indictment are merely
accusations, and KARRIEM BARROW is presumed innocent unless and
until proven guilty.
