MIAMI– LAWFUEL – Deals & Law –The Daily Business Review® today announced that more than 150 of the region’s most influential dealmakers in law, real estate and finance are expected to attend the publication’s first “Top Dealmakers of the Year Recognition Luncheon” on Friday, March 23, from noon to 2:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Miami. The Daily Business Review is published by ALM, a leading media company serving legal and business professionals.

“This is a chance for the Review to recognize community-based business leaders who successfully completed major transactions in 2006,” said Chris Mobley, Daily Business Review publisher. “The South Florida market is as competitive as any in the country, and we felt that those who thrive here deserve to be recognized with an event of their own.”

The “Top Dealmakers” to be recognized include leading real estate brokers and developers, lawyers, in-house counsel and finance professionals. Nominations came directly from individuals in each market segment, as well as the Review’s editorial staff. All nominees are based in Miami-Dade, Broward or Palm Beach, but the deals themselves were done throughout the country and the globe in 2006.

Finalists were selected by the Daily Business Review’s editors; one Top Dealmaker will be chosen by the editorial staff in each of the following categories: office, hotel, industrial, residential, multi-family, retail, leasing, land, public sector, finance, corporate finance, international corporate and mergers and acquisitions.

All finalists and winners will be recognized at the Top Dealmakers Recognition Luncheon and in a special section of the Daily Business Review to be published on March 26.

In a 2005 survey by the independent firm ReadexResearch, 65 percent of the publication’s subscribers viewed themselves as dealmakers, with 59 percent responsible for new client development, 54 percent for contract negotiation, 47 percent bringing significant revenue into their law firm or business and 19 percent handling mergers and/or acquisitions.
