New Zealander Arrested On $75 Billion Scam Allegations

LAWFUEL – New Zealand Legal Jobs Newswire – New Zealander Bryan Archer is to appear in Court on charges relating to a $75 billion British counterfeiting scam.

Archer was arrested in Tauranga and is being held by Police pending an extradition application by Britain. He is accused along with six Britons of trying to get the Bank of England to honour counterfeit ancient notes in non-existent denominations of up to 500,000 pounds. Their trial is already under way in London.

British police asked Interpol for help in finding the man alleged to be a co-conspirator after an English court issued a warrant for his arrest in September.
