November 08, 2004 LAWFUEL – Law firm, law, legal, attorney news Debevoise & Plimpton LLP is pleased to announce that Mark Lee will join the firm as International Counsel and David Cho will join the firm as an associate, resident in the Hong Kong office. Mr. Lee and Mr. Cho’s practices encompass mergers and acquisition and capital markets transactions, with an emphasis on Korea-based assignments.

Andrew Ostrognai, Managing Partner of the firm’s Hong Kong office, said, “Debevoise’s long-standing commitment to Asia has grown steadily in recent years, and the addition of Mark and David further enhances the firm’s capabilities in Hong Kong. Mark and David, along with Tom Britt, a senior corporate partner resident in Hong Kong, will be able to service existing and potential clients in Asia-based international capital raising, investment transactions and other corporate activities in Asia.”

Mr. Lee has extensive experience advising Asian and multi-national companies, as well as all of the major investment banks on a wide range of corporate matters, including corporate financings, U.S. SEC-registered public offerings, Rule 144A/Regulation S exempt offerings, structured finance and debt transactions, and cross-border mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Lee joins the firm from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where he has practiced since 1997 and has been located in Hong Kong since 1998. During his tenure at Skadden, his practice focused on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and securities offerings. Mr. Lee received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1996 and his M.B.A. in Corporate Finance from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business in 1993. He received his B.A. from the University of Chicago in 1990.

Mr. Cho has advised sellers and purchases on a variety of mergers and acquisitions, public and private securities offerings and other complex structured transactions. He also joins the firm from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where he has been an associate in that firm’s Hong Kong office since 2001. Prior to that, Mr. Cho served as legal counsel for several multi-national corporations, including SK Corporation (Seoul, Korea), Infinity International Group, Inc. (Los Angeles, CA) and Cotter & Company (Chicago, IL). Mr. Cho received his J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology in 1995 and his B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles in 1992.
