Former Chief Operating Officer from DLA Piper, Joanna Simon, has become the NZ Law Society’s new Chief Executive this week.

This week the New Zealand Law Society | Te Kāhui Ture o Aotearoa welcomed its new Chief Executive, Joanna Simon. Joanna joins us

Based in Auckland but commuting  between Auckland and Wellington she is the Law Society’s first Auckland-based Chief Executive.

The Law Society made a $3 million loss last year and there is plenty for the new Chief Executive to do to restore the Society’s fortunes after a difficult period, including the issues arising from recent issues of sexual harassment, diversity and general financial wellbeing for the Society

She has spent almost 11 years working for DLA Piper where she joined as National Marketing Manager and helped the firm through its major rebranding as the first ‘global firm’ in New Zealand.
