In 2003, the NYPD Bomb Squad established the Centennial Celebration Committee to facilitate the celebration of its 100th year of service to the Metropolitan Area. The committee, composed of retired members and friends of the squad will come together to showcase the rich history of the Bomb Squad from its inception to the aftermath of September 11, 2001.
