Veteran financial executive brings extensive law firm and business experience to EGS
NEW YORK – Ellenoff Grossman & Schole LLP (EGS) today announced that Evelyn Louie-Nam has joined the firm as Chief Financial Officer, bringing more than three decades of financial management and business experience spanning leading law firms and professional services companies.
As CFO, Louie-Nam will lead EGS’s finance function and work closely with firm leadership to use financial data and analysis to support strategic decision-making, strengthen the performance and profitability of the firm’s practice groups, and enhance financial operations across the firm. She will also focus on restructuring and developing the finance team and expanding the tools and reporting available to firm leadership.
“Evelyn understands both the economics of a law firm and the broader business decisions that drive growth,” said EGS Founder Douglas Ellenoff. “She brings the experience, judgment and analytical perspective to help us make smarter decisions with better information as our firm continues to grow. We are excited to have her join our leadership team and help us build the financial infrastructure for the firm’s next stage.”
Louie-Nam joins EGS after more than a decade as Chief Financial Officer of Adler & Stachenfeld LLP, where she partnered with firm management on financial strategy, developed key performance indicators and financial reporting, and created profitability models covering clients, matters, timekeepers and practice areas. She also oversaw key financial and business relationships and monitored industry benchmarks including billing rates, compensation, leverage and spending.
Earlier in her career, Louie-Nam served as Chief Operating Officer of DeNovo Legal, where she helped transform a $10 million contract-attorney staffing company into a $60 million ediscovery business. In that role, she oversaw financial and staffing operations, client relationships, technology and administrative support while helping manage the company’s rapid growth.
Her law firm experience also includes senior financial and analytical roles at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP; Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP; and White & Case LLP.
“I am excited to join EGS at a point when the firm is focused on using its financial information even more strategically,” said Louie-Nam. “My goal is to give our leadership and practice groups timely, meaningful data that helps them understand the drivers of their businesses, identify opportunities and make informed decisions that support profitable growth. I also look forward to building a finance function that serves as a strategic resource throughout the firm.”
Louie-Nam began her career as a financial analyst at R.H. Macy’s, giving her an early grounding in the financial management of a large operating business. She later served as a senior consultant with Hyperion Solutions, subsequently acquired by Oracle, where she worked with clients to design and implement financial information systems. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance and Marketing from Temple University.
