The new partners and their practice areas are:

Karen A. Broucek, 49, practices in the firm’s Employment Benefits & Executive Compensation/Health Law groups where she advises clients on tax and ERISA issues relating to 401(k) and other retirement plans, health care, cafeteria plans, and executive compensation arrangements. Ms. Broucek was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1979. She is a graduate of Lewis University, DePaul University College of Law and The John Marshall Law School. Ms. Broucek joined the firm as an associate in 1999.

Michael P. Manly, 32, practices in the firm’s Securities & Commodities Litigation group. He primarily represents broker/dealers in customer disputes brought in federal and state courts as well as various arbitration forums. Mr. Manly also has extensive experience in other complex commercial litigation, including corporate control disputes and antitrust matters. He was admitted to the Illinois Bar and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in 1996. He is also a member of the Courts of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit (1998) and the Federal Circuit (1999.) He is a graduate of University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the University of Nebraska College of Law. Mr. Manly joined the firm as an associate in 2003.

Jennifer Desser, 33, practices in the firm’s Real Estate group where she represents a wide range of clients involved in complex real estate and related financing transactions, from sole developers to publicly-traded real estate investment trusts in connection with transactions involving officer properties, shopping centers, industrial sites and government facilities. She was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1997. She graduated from the University of Michigan and IIT/Chicago-Kent College of Law. Ms. Desser joined the firm as an associate in 1998.

Lee J. Eulgen, 31, practices in the firm’s Intellectual Property Group where he has significant experience in sophisticated intellectual property litigation, negotiation and counseling. He has handled numerous technology-related matters, including many involving the Internet. He also has substantial experience in entertainment negotiation and litigation as well as complex commercial litigation. He was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1997. Mr. Eulgen graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Notre Dame in 1994 and then from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1997 with High Honors. He joined the firm as an associate in April 2002.

Joshua A. Klein, 31, practices in the firm’s Corporate & Securities group where he represents corporate and individual clients in general corporate and securities matters, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, public offerings, private placements, and corporate restructurings. He was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1997. He graduated from Tufts University and the University of Pennsylvania. He joined the firm as an associate in 1997.

Leah A. Schleicher, 31, practices in the firm’s Real Estate group where she represents a variety of buyers, sellers and borrowers in real estate transactions, and also has represented lenders in connection with commercial acquisition and construction financing transactions. She was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1997, the New York Bar in 1998 and the Illinois Bar in 2002. She graduated from Michigan State University and Fordham University School of Law. Ms. Schleicher joined the firm as an associate in 2001.

William J. Tarnow II, 30, practices in the firm’s Labor & Employment group where he represents and counsels management in all facets of employment law and employment-related litigation before federal and state administrative agencies and courts. He has litigated a variety of cases ranging from trade secret, fiduciary duty, restrictive covenant and contract disputes to claims of discrimination under various statutes such as Title VII, the ADA, an the ADEA. He was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1997. He obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois and graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law. Mr. Tarnow joined the firm as an associate in 1999.

Winfield S. Thom, 39, practices in the firm’s Corporate & Securities group where he represents clients in general corporate matters, including private equity and venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate workouts and restructurings. He was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1997. He graduated from Stanford University and University of Wisconsin-Madison. Mr. Thom joined the firm as an associate in 2002.
