Salans announces that Eric Rosedale and Evan Lazar, from Weil, Gotshal & Manges, have joined the firm to spearhead its Global Real Estate and Property Finance practice.

Rosedale and Lazar co-chaired Weil Gotshal’s top rated European Property and Finance Group, which was widely acknowledged as the leading cross-border legal team servicing private equity and other cross-border institutional investors and capital providers in Central and Eastern Europe. While both partners will retain their practices in Central and Eastern Europe, Eric Rosedale will relocate to London in order assist the group in servicing the growing number of cross-border players headquartered in Europe’s financial capital. The new team also anticipates expanding its reach to other emerging markets such as Moscow, where Salans has a premier practice.

While at Weil Gotshal, Rosedale and Lazar regularly advised a stellar roster of blue chip institutional clients, including GE Capital Real Estate, Lehman Brothers, Pricoa, Heitman Private Equity, AIG/Lincoln and Resolution Private Equity and funds such as the Central European Retail Property Fund and the European Retail Enterprise Fund.

The acquisition of the Weil, Gotshal team follows closely on the heels of Salans’ major expansion in 2003 which saw the addition of 57 lawyers and 5 new offices in Europe and Asia.
