Sullivan & Worcester Name Nicole Crum Investment Management Practice Group Leader

Nicole Crum, a DC-based partner in the firm’s Investment Management practice, has been named the new group leader.

“Our clients in the investment management industry face increasing regulatory compliance and legal risks,” said David Mahaffey, DC managing partner and previous leader of the firm’s Investment Management practice. “Nicole has a proven track record of successful leadership and is extremely knowledgeable about the challenges facing the industry.”

A trusted adviser to clients, Nicole represents boards and board committees, including independent directors, on all aspects of governance and compliance. She frequently advises clients on crisis and conflict management, regulatory oversight matters, government and internal investigations, and shareholder and stakeholder engagement issues.

“Nicole is well-suited to lead the Investment Management practice at a critical time for the industry,” said David Nagle, co-managing partner of the firm.  “She has the necessary experience and foresight to help attract new talent and provide strategic direction for one of the firm’s key practice groups.”

Nicole is also chair of Sullivan’s Corporate Governance & Board Advisory Practice and co-chair of the firm’s Lateral Partner Hiring committee. She previously served as chair of the firm’s Women’s Initiative from 2017 to 2021.

Her work has earned her numerous legal and industry honors and recognitions, including Best Lawyers in America®. Nicole was selected by Fund Board Views as among the top ten women investment management lawyers, and named a “Next Generation Lawyer” and “Recommended” lawyer by The Legal 500 US. In 2019, she was selected for DCA Live’s inaugural list of the top Emerging Women Leaders in Private Practice.
