Technology Attorney John W. Kepler in St. Louis and Patent Attorney Cathy Futrowsky in Washington, D.C. Join the Firm

December 5 2005, St. Louis, Missouri – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – The law firm of Gallop, Johnson & Neuman continues to grow in 2005 with the addition of John W. Kepler III, a respected intellectual property attorney whose practice focuses on Intellectual Asset Management (IAM). Mr. Kepler joined the law firm’s Intellectual Property Group in St. Louis effective last week.

Mr. Kepler’s IAM practice focuses on a fast-growing area of intellectual property and technology law that assists clients with identification, procurement, transfer and protection of brands, inventions and other original creative works. He formerly was a shareholder at the law firm of Polsinelli Shalton Welte Suelthaus in St. Louis.

Cathy J. Futrowsky, an intellectual property attorney who works closely with Mr. Kepler, also joined Gallop, Johnson & Neuman this week. Ms. Futrowsky’s practice is based in Washington, D.C. and she will continue working there. She was formerly an attorney with Polsinelli Shalton Welte Suelthaus. Sherry Roussin, a paralegal who works with Mr. Kepler and Ms. Futrowsky, also joined the firm.

Mr. Kepler is licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. His clients include companies in biological, electrical, financial, Internet services, industrial machinery, software and consumer goods. In addition, Mr. Kepler is the author of topical articles for legal and business publications, and he lectures on intellectual property issues at legal seminars and professional meetings.

Since 1991, Mr. Kepler has been an adjunct professor at the Washington University School of Law in St. Louis. He is a member of The American Bar Association and The Missouri Bar Association, where he is former chairman of its Patent and Trademark Committee. He also is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Computer Law Association, the Federal Circuit Bar Association and the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis. In addition, he serves on the Advisory Board for the College of Arts & Sciences at Webster University.

Mr. Kepler earned a J.D. from Suffolk University and a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Purdue University. Ms. Futrowsky earned a J.D. from Washington University School of Law and a B.S. in chemical engineering with honors from Cornell University.
