TUCSON, Ariz. – LAWFUEL – The law News Network – Jason Langlois, 35, of Mesa, Ariz., was sentenced here to 36 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Raner C. Collins. Langlois had pleaded guilty on June 23, 2005 to Possession of Child Pornography. The 36-month prison term will be followed by lifetime supervised release with standard conditions and nineteen special conditions as outlined in the plea agreement filed in federal court. Langlois will also be required to register as a sex offender upon release from prison.
He is required to self surrender to the U.S. Marshal’s Service on December 27, 2005.
The charges stemmed from an on-line undercover investigation that targeted individuals sharing images of child pornography on a peer to peer network in late June 2004. A subsequent investigation led the agents to the defendant’s residence where they executed a federal search warrant on November 22, 2004. The computer equipment seized that day was forensically searched and found to contain 246 images and 159 movies of child pornography, including images of children under the age of 12 engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
The investigation in this case was conducted by U.S. Immigrations and Customs
Enforcement. The prosecution was handled by Judson T. Mihok, Assistant U.S. Attorney, District of Arizona, Tucson, Ariz.
