PHOENIX (LAWFUEL) – The United States reached a settlement with Ernest Rudolph “Rudy” Anders, III. M.D., an anesthesiologist practicing in Paradise Valley. The United States contended that Dr. Anders submitted false claims for payment to the Medicare Program from October 2007 to December 2007 that falsely stated the amount of time spent treating his patients. Dr. Anders agreed to pay $110,000 in damages and penalties to settle the matter.
The investigation leading to the settlement was conducted by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General, and Robert K. Lu, Assistant U.S. Attorney, District of Arizona.
