Skadden Ahead of the Pack in Asian-Counsel Deals of the Year

The firm received six “Deal of the Year” accolades in Asian-Counsel’s annual survey (Feb. 20, 2009), more than any other firm. The winning representations included Coca-Cola’s takeover of China Huiyuan Juice Group Ltd.; Nomura Holdings Inc.’s acquisition of Lehman Brothers assets in Asia; NTT DoCoMo Inc.’s investment in Tata Teleservices Limited; St. George Banking in its merger with Westpac; J.P. Morgan Securities (Asia Pacific) Ltd. as financial advisor to China Unicom Limited in its merger with China Netcom Group Corporation; and as U.S. tax counsel to Visa Inc. in the largest IPO in U.S. history. We also received honorable mentions for representing China Bluestar Corp in its acquisition by The Blackstone Group and Citibank, N.A. in its acquisition of Bank of Overseas Chinese.
