(WASHINGTON, D.C.) October 13, 2004 – Studley, a national commercial real estate services firm, and Kilpatrick Stockton, a full-service international law firm, today announced that the two firms will team up to provide real estate acquisition services to the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) under GSA’s National Broker Contract.
Studley was one of four firms selected to work on the national contract, which includes acquisition services for GSA’s 149 million square feet portfolio of space nationwide with approximately 50 million square feet in the national capital region. The team also announced its selection as acquisition advisors for the 492,000-square-foot GSA Headquarters Relocation Project. GSA is currently located at 18th & F Street, NW, Washington, DC.
Studley and Kilpatrick Stockton have previously partnered with government agencies in various headquarters projects, including Department of Transportation’s build-to-suit, which was awarded the 2002 Real Estate Transaction of the Year; U.S. Bureau of the Census; Commodity Futures Trading Commission and Office of the Comptroller of the Currency.
“Studley’s appointment to this exclusive broker relationship further substantiates the work we have conducted with Kilpatrick Stockton for GSA. We are delighted to continue this partnership with Kilpatrick Stockton to ensure GSA and its clients receive the most complete and knowledgeable real estate advisory services possible,” said David Lipson, executive managing director in Studley’s Washington, D.C. office. “We also look forward to working with Kilpatrick Stockton and GSA to locate a new 500,000-square-foot headquarters in Washington, D.C. that will meet the Agency’s economic and operational needs for the future.”
“Being awarded the National Brokerage Contract is a culmination of a seven-year strategic partnership between Kilpatrick Stockton and Studley in successfully representing government agencies in complex, high-profile headquarters procurement projects such as DOT, Census Bureau and CFTC,” said Neil Levy, Kilpatrick Stockton Partner in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. “We look forward to working with Studley as the team continues to use ground-breaking solutions to bring the best of private sector practices and skills to public procurement.”
GSA will use the National Broker Contract to conduct the majority of its acquisitions and lease executions for the next five years. The Agency plans to divide the work evenly between the four firms awarded exclusives.
