Weil’s Mindy Spector Honored as Law Firm “Trailblazer”

LawFuel.com – US Law Firm News – Mindy J. Spector, Weil’s General Counsel and a partner in the Complex Commercial Litigation practice group, was honored as a Kate Stoneman Project “Trailblazer” at a reception last night. The Kate Stoneman Project recognizes women lawyers who have served as trailblazers for all women in the legal profession.

An experienced trial attorney who has served as lead counsel in numerous complex jury trials, Mindy has practiced in all areas of complex commercial litigation, including product liability, contract and commercial power litigation, and has substantive expertise in the defense of civil RICO actions. In addition, Mindy has played an important role in the development of Weil’s associate programs, and has been a frequent lecturer in training sessions on topics such as arbitration, trial preparation, and discovery techniques. She was recently named an “outstanding woman in law” by the New York Chamber of Commerce – an award given in honor of Women’s History Month.

The Kate Stoneman Project was founded in 2007 by women partners representing 10 leading New York law firms to honor Kate Stoneman, who in 1886 became the first woman to be admitted to practice law in New York State. The group provides a forum to address issues of common concern relating to the advancement of women in the profession, as well as a platform to leverage the collective strength of its members to advance women’s leadership in professional, civic, educational and charitable endeavors.
