11 May – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – Allen & Overy has advised United Pan-Europe Communications (UPC), the cable company, on its case against a group of former shareholders of Cignal Communications, Inc. Cignal Communications merged with Priority Telecom NV and the shareholders had claimed that the IPO of Priority Telecom NV in 2001 violated an agreement between the parties and the rules of Euronext. The plaintiffs’ claim for US$200 million in damages has been denied entirely. The matter was handled by a team led by Amsterdam-based corporate litigation partner Arnold Croiset van Uchelen and Amsterdam-based senior associate Timo Jansen.
