12 October 2004 LAWFUEL - Law, legal, law firm, attorney news Simmons & Simmons was short-listed in a total of seven categories, the others being Managing Partner of the Year (for Huen Wong), Employer of Choice, Investment Funds, Insurance, Arbitration and Construction Law Firm of the Year. Simmons & Simmons’ China employment practice is an integral part of the firm’s highly recognised global employment practice. It is headed by partner Fiona Loughrey who works closely with fellow partners, Robert Lewington and (in Shanghai) Mike Hickman, and leads a team of lawyers in both offices. The China employment practice has continued to expand over the last 12 months, with former London associate Nick Metson having rejoined, after a brief absence, in November 2003, and local recruit Brian Van Langenberg having started in August 2004. Huen Wong, Managing Partner, Simmons & Simmons Hong Kong said: “We were delighted to be nominated in seven categories and then to win the Employment Law Firm of the Year Award.
