100 Most Influencial Lawyer List

100-most-influencial-lawyersThere’s everyone from OJ Simpson’s lawyer Robert Shapiro to General Mills’ General Counsel Roderick Palmore pushing for diversity within the legal profession, from Kamala Harris, California’s attorney general and Wilmer Cutler’s William Lee who won a record $1.05 billion judgment for Apple Inc.

It’s the National Law Journal’s 100 most influencing lawyers in America and, as usual, it carries some surprises.

The list, focusing on lawyers who have created change through their cases, deals, teaching or corporate law activity is always widely anticipated.

The top performers were selected based on five qualities: political clout, legal results, media penetration, business credibility and thought leadership.

Among other notables are Jeffrey Fisher, Stanford Law School professor who founded their Supreme Court litigation clinic, Levi Strauss chairman and top litigator Stephen Neal, Pfizer General Counsel Amy Schulman who has helped reshape the relationship between corporate counsel and outside lawyers, the near-legendary David Boies of umpteen litigation victories and headline-making corporate cases, the 81 year old corporate law titan Marty Lipton of Wachtell Lipton.
