TOKYO, MARCH 25, 2013 – LawFuel.com – Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP announced today that David E. Case has joined the firm as a partner in its Intellectual Property Group based in the firm’s Tokyo office.
Mr. Case is a leading intellectual property litigator in Tokyo. Formerly the head of White & Case’s Japan and Northern Asia IP and commercial litigation practices, Mr. Case advises Japanese clients in litigation and arbitration involving IP rights, including playing an active role in matters pending in U.S. courts and worldwide and handling important depositions and other discovery matters in Japan.

Mr. Case currently serves as Chair of the Intellectual Property Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan (“ACCJ”). He is a past member of ACCJ’s Board of Governors and was formerly the Co-Chair of the ACCJ’s Privacy Law Task Force. Mr. Case also serves on the editorial committee of the Japanese and English journals published by the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property of Japan. He earned his J.D., magna cum laude, Order of the Coif, from Syracuse University College of Law in 1998 and his B.S. in Economics from Saint Mary’s College in 1990. Mr. Case is a permanent resident of Japan and is fluent in spoken and written Japanese.
