18 July – LAWFUEL – The Law News Network – London, United Kingdom – International law firm Dechert LLP advised Ernst & Young LLP as nominated adviser and Teather & Greenwood as broker on mobile satellite communications company Satcom Group Holdings plc’s (SatCom) AIM admission. £3.5m was raised before expenses.

SatCom supplies a wide range of satellite equipment, including satellite phones and data transmitters which can be used in areas without mobile or fixed land line telephony services, specific to each of the three largest satellite operators, Inmarsat, Thuraya and Iridium. The company, which has offices in the UK, Europe, US and Asia, is actively involved in reconstruction work in places such as Afghanistan – indeed its equipment was used in Asia after the Boxing Day 2004 tsunami hit the region and brought down the communication networks.

The Dechert team consisted of corporate partner David Vogel and corporate associates Sean Geraghty and Andrew Harrow.

Satcom Group Holdings Group plc was advised by Shoosmiths.
