2 August, 2004 Read all today’s legal news, law, law firm news & legal research at LAWFUELAllen & Overy is advising United Biscuits (“UB”), a leading European manufacturer of biscuits and snacks, on its multi-million euro purchase of Jacobs’ Biscuit Group, the UK and Ireland biscuit businesses of Danone.

The deal is subject to the approval of the UK and Irish competition authorities. UB, the maker of McVitie’s and Jaffa Cakes, will add Jacobs’ Cream Crackers, Twiglets and Thai Bites to its existing portfolio of brands.
