41 Attorneys and 18 Practice Areas Cited in Annual Directory of Leading Business Lawyers, Reflecting Firm Expertise Across All Departments and Key Areas

NEW YORK- LAWFUEL – Press Release Service -June 8, 2006–Proskauer Rose LLP, an international law firm with more than 650 lawyers in the United States and Europe, has been widely recognized in the new edition of Chambers USA, an annual directory of America’s leading business lawyers. Forty-one Proskauer attorneys and 24 practice areas were included in this year’s edition of Chambers USA, widely acknowledged as one of the world’s top arbiters of legal achievement. These rankings reflect a 30 percent increase from 2005 in the number of individual attorney rankings at the firm and a 25 percent increase in the number of practice rankings.

Proskauer’s national sports law and ERISA litigation practices received Chambers’ highest rankings, as did the firm’s Boston-based private equity fund formation practice and its New York-based employment practice, widely considered one of the nation’s best and the only NY employment practice ranked in the top tier by Chambers. Also receiving top-tier recognition were the firm’s corporate/M&A, healthcare and false advertising practices, the latter of which is receiving recognition from Chambers for the first time. In addition, the firm’s national wealth management practice was recognized for the first time, as were its New York-based general commercial litigation and Los Angeles-based employment defense practices.

Also recognized by Chambers, as they have been in years past, are Proskauer’s: Washington, D.C. and Boston-based intellectual property practices; Newark, New Jersey-based employment defense practice; and its New York-based bankruptcy/restructuring, employee benefits & executive compensation, environment, insurance dispute resolution, media & entertainment litigation, and real estate practices. Chambers’ practice-based rankings reflect Proskauer’s established and ever-growing prominence in these fields, based on the firm’s handling of a wide-range of matters throughout the year.

“The inclusion of so many of our marquee and emerging practices in this year’s Chambers USA, not to mention the attorneys who were named, is a tremendous recognition of the dedication and expertise we bring to every client matter and to the significant breadth and depth of our capabilities,” said Allen I. Fagin, Chairman of Proskauer Rose. “I congratulate each and every attorney.”

The annual Chambers USA rankings are determined from interviews with clients and attorneys across the country. The results are independently audited and based on a number of criteria including technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial awareness/astuteness, diligence, commitment, and other qualities most valued by clients.
